I have great news for red lipstick lovers. Deep, sultry colors like red, burgundy, and dark purple are perfect for the fall.
Red in particular is the it color for Fall/Winter season, and I recently came across one that I think is fabulous. Plump Cosmetics Lip Paint. Shades like Pushy and Potion will add elegance and a touch of drama to your ensemble in the cold of winter. The long lasting formula is waterproof and looks great with a creamy finish that doesn’t feel heavy on lips. It would be a good idea to collect every shade.
If you are new to wearing dark lip colors or have more mature skin, here are some tips just for you.
Prime your lips before applying your lipstick by exfoliating or using a hydrating balm. This will help even the surface of your lips and reduce the look of lines and cracking that can come with winter weather.
Prevent feathering and make your lips look fuller with a lip pencil. This is a must for more mature skin to keep your color from bleeding into wrinkles around the lips.
Additionally, make sure to choose the right formula. Long-wear is not the same as matte. While a matte lipstick can be long lasting, the wrong formulas can also be intensely drying.
Finally, pop other colors for a fresh look. Flashy colors can sometimes look one dimensional. Be colorful but make one feature the focus on your makeup and/or clothing. For example: Wear a neutral face with a bold lip. Wear black clothing with a pop of color. As always; take a real good look in the mirror before you leave the house.
